From the series: Nomads in music 

In Almacita di Desolato, singer Izaline Calister, pianist Thijs Borsten and two guests tell an extraordinary Curaçao folktale about acceptance and freedom, and the power of love and courage, with music, song, dance, hypnotic rhythms and exotic sounds. Solem, the village priestess is seduced by evil. She is banished by the village when she gives birth to a daughter. Solem names her Almacita di Desolato. 

Izaline Calister brings the characters to life with powerful renditions of new and traditional music from Curaçao. Thijs Borsten provides a contemporary twist. Special guests are singer and percussionist Russell Soleana (74) who specialises in Muzik di Zumbi (music of the spirits) and a dancer. Soleana's authentic performance of the music and expressive dance add a deeper layer to this myth.
