In the dance performance Oasis, choreographer and dancer Denden Karadeniz and his company Zero Dance Theatre go in search of the inner oasis: a place where we can be ourselves and unwind. An important place, because being able to freely be yourself and express yourself seems to become increasingly difficult these days. In a world where we are constantly in touch with each other, division and individualism only seem to increase. We are sometimes diametrically opposed to each other, shunning mutual dialogue, reactive and embittered. Every person is different, but we all want to be able to be ourselves, in a safe and secure place.  

In this compelling performance, Zero Dance Theatre makes the audience reflect on their own oasis: where do you find your peace in this world and can you be completely yourself? An exhilarating experience that asks essential questions in our time of growing social complexity. Translated by a unique blend of diverse dance styles and dance backgrounds that come together in a very physical movement idiom. 

About the creators 
Artistic director/choreographer Denden Karadeniz started out as a breakdancer. After graduating from dance school, he continued his training in Los Angeles and Australia, where he immersed himself in the combination of breakdance and contemporary dance. Denden has shown his innovative vision to the general public on The Ultimate Dance Battle, So You Think You Can Dance and Time to Dance. He has also appeared in theatres with various urban and modern dance companies. With his roots in the urban battle scene, commercial experience on television and his love for theatre, he carries his vision forward with his own dance company Zero Dance Theatre. 

Zero Dance Theatre is the first urban contemporary dance company in the Netherlands. They bring a unique mix of diverse dance styles and dance backgrounds that come together in a very physical movement idiom.
